Old Salem at Sea ~ in Ballad and Song ~

Old Salem at Sea in Ballad and Song is a collection of sea songs and ballads that reflects Salem’s rich maritime history and its relationship to the sea.

Like a nineteenth century Salem merchant with an astute eye for the commercial treasures of the East, Bob has navigated through song collections, newspapers, log nooks and journals, and admirably gathered here a musical treasure of songs. Here is the first full collection of maritime songs, shanties, ballads - even parodies - from the great age of sail as connected to the historical port of Salem, Massachusetts. Welcome aboard his ship of lyrics! Michael O'Leary, traditional singer
