During the Dutch Golden Age, the art of plant breeding and painting flourished like a field of flowers in bloom. Artists, agriculturalists, and horticulturalists alike found
ways to celebrate the beauty and diversity of flowers. Painters, like Rembrandt van Rijn, captured this obsession with plants by representing everyday farmers, riotous flower bouquets, sweeping Dutch landscapes, farmer’s market scenes, and the flurry of ships coming in and out of ports carrying goods—including flower seeds.
A long-lasting and hardy flower for bouquets. These snaps are vibrantly and masterfully colored with bright rosy-orange upper petals and yellow-streaked with orange on their lower petals. Plants produce gallery-worthy blossoms deep into the fall, and are also great for cutting for bouquets.

Artwork by Cheryl Griesbach. Cheryl expertly layers different genres of traditional Dutch oil painting. Through combining landscape painting with still life flowers, she makes this art form, and the plants she represents, feel fresh and contemporary.
Art Seed Packets: Each year, Hudson Valley Seeds commissions contemporary artists from around the United States to tell the story of a particular seed variety. That art and those seeds combine to create an Art Pack, a unique celebration of the diverse stories of seeds and their stewards.

At this time, orders shipped within the United States are shipped using USPS or UPS. Tracking information will be provided via email.

For our local customers, we are pleased to offer an In Store Pickup option! How it works:

Shop online at shop.pem.org

At checkout, select Curbside Pickup as your shipping method. Place your order.

Once we have prepared your order, you will receive an email that your order is ready for pickup.

Follow the pickup instructions provided in your email. Arrive at our Store location at 161 Essex Street.
- Orders not picked up within two weeks of order date will be canceled and refunded.
Please Note: Please allow 2-3 days from purchase date for processing. In Store Pickup is available Thursday through Monday 10 am–5 pm.
RETURN & EXCHANGE POLICY
We are pleased to accept returns within 30 days of the purchase date. All returned items must be in their original condition and packaging.
