Blanket Tiger and Magpie

$189

While tigers symbolize warding off evil spirits and bad luck, magpies are believed to bring good news. Thus, in the Joseon Dynasty, hanging a tiger painting on the gate on New Year’s Day was a custom.

Koreans also believe that when magpies are chirping, pleasant guests would visit them. In the time of the Joseon Dynasty, tigers symbolized power and magpies symbolized the public.

BON’ee designed it as if the tiger and the magpie were conversing, wishing for a beautiful era when the people in power and the public live in harmony. It represents the wish for individual happiness and a peaceful era.
